Okay, so I went through my old photos for Coron and tried to retrace that wonderful first trip in 2008 hehe. Here's what I found =) This is a glimpse of what I call the actual last frontier in Palawan (at least for me haha). We went to this island by ourselves via kayak from the resort, which had a sandbar, and is already bordering the South China Sea so it was really memorable. We stayed at the Coral Bay Beach & Dive Resort. We got a full-board package (meaning the package included transfers, accommodations, 3x a day super yummy eat-all-you-can meals, free use of facilities, free kayak, free mini banca) almost like that in El Nido Resorts =) I'm squeezing it all (around 4 days) in one post and it's going a bit photo heavy haha. You can just click on the image for a bigger file. I'll try my best to make it appear in sequence so that you can follow our IT.

Last Full Day in Coron Palawan - Malcapuya Island Tour, Macario's Grill & Bistro Coron
I went on a 4D3N barkada trip to Coron. Our 2 full days of activity were spent with Coron Galeri. We didn't go much to super action sites because the goal was to chill with the girls and to catch some beach time. There was an option for a shipwreck tour or an island hopping tour for our last full day - we chose the latter haha. As I said, 2 days were not enough so I'm saving the rest of the activities in my open itinerary for next time. Our guide said that Malcapuya Island was now owned by the Boracay Regency group. I hope that when the time comes, the beach will still be as nice as it is now and open to the public. For now, Kuya said you can stay overnight here via camping and catch a very beautiful Coron sunset. Too bad we had to head back to Coron Town, which was more than an hour away, before it got dark. This was one of the nicest islands we went to - experience-wise and also thanks to Lagu =) As for food trips in Coron Town, we had dinners at Macario's Grill and Bistro Coron in a day to try that out.
Palawan in June During the Rainy Season, My Buhawi over Water Experience - Coron Galeri Sun, Sea & Sand Ecotours with Bulog Island and Lunch at Banana Island
It was raining quite hard in Manila the week we were off to Coron. June was officially the start of the low peak season for the beaches in the Philippines. Well, as I always say, I love the beach without the sun so we still pushed through. I just never thought I'd get super rain one fine day in Coron haha. Let me just say that 2 full days of adventure at this part of Palawan was not enough. You should make it at least 3 whole days out for activities in Coron (add in flight in and out days) to put in the snorkel-able shipwrecks (which I think is unique to this place), to visit more sites like the Barracuda Lake and to allow for bum day/s in the hotel or resort when you can't go out due to bad weather. We got a very good deal for this day and managed to get the Sun, Sea & Sand Ecotours day tour package of Coron Galeri at our own terms. It was also as fun for me as the day before when we went on the Coron Ultimate Island Tour - except our hearts skipped a few beats with that water spout (buhawi) coming our way at Bulog Island haha. Well, we got lucky on this day and managed to laugh it all away. Read all about it below. If you haven't read Coron Day 1 and Coron Day 2 posts yet of this DIY trip, I suggest you do that first to get my other tips and suggestions ;)
DIY Palawan Trip - Kayangan Lake, Coron Island Ultimate Tour, Maquinit Hot Springs, Lolo Nonoy's Food Station
A few years ago before blogging, circa 2008, I went to Palawan for the first time and fell in love with Coron. It's one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines for me and I said I would definitely come back. There was a difference in experience from the first and this last. As with most of my repeat trips, I was back there but it's always not the same. There are these little things that make a difference, my now developed passion that is travel blogging, the fact that I was the one who organized this Palawan trip and I was with another set of friends. I will make another post next on that old trip for fun hahaha. Read all about that old Coron trip here. Don't blame me if I can't tell you where it is exactly (definitely in Coron though), if my face is everywhere (I don't use cameras that much at that time) and my hair was like 3 inches long only there BTW hehe. This post is Part 2 of my latest DIY Coron Trip. I suggest you read from Day 1 or from Part 1 of this Day 2 to get the whole picture.
DIY Trip Palawan, Intro to Coron Galeri, Coron Island Ultimate Tour - CYC Island, Kalachuchi Coral Eden, Hidden Lagoon, Lunch at Bulungan Beach, Twin Peaks Reef, Underwater Shots of Coron Life
Tasked to organize your Coron trip? Don't worry I'm here to help you or at least show you how I did it! I don't know about you but when I say DIY, I mean not going through a travel agency from your point of origin and arranging things yourself like your plane and accommodations. It doesn't necessarily mean that you are on your own when it comes to tours and food trips and can't ask local experts or TripAdvisor for help ;) For this DIY Coron Trip, I used a local (Coron) island tour company, arranged things online / went to their shop to finalize when I arrived one day earlier (check out Day 1 for our Coron hotel and the best meal in Coron we had) and hoped for the best (plus relax time after the organizing) haha. I had super fun doing this Coron Island Ultimate Tour with Coron Galeri. I was out in the sun and swimming with Dory and friends like there's no tomorrow in Palawan =) This is just Part 1 of that day. Up next is Kayangan Lake and lots of pictures for Part 2 of the Coron Island Ultimate Tour Day.
Corto del Mar Hotel Review in Coron Palawan, Busuanga Plane, First Day in Coron, Recommended Tricycle Driver Slash Guide & Best Baby Back Ribs Meal in Coron at Santino's Grill!
I've only been to Coron in Palawan once and that was before I became a travel blogger. Just that one visit and I was already in love with the place. I've longed to come back and drag my friends to that place so that they can see what I mean. This vacation finally came together!!! Hahahaha. You can follow the Coron itinerary that I made based on the sequence of my Coron posts. I promise to show you all the fun spots we went to and dig up some old photos from that first trip for one of the posts. Just please don't judge my super short hair when I post about that hehe. The main difference was we stayed in Coron Town for this latest trip while we stayed in an Island Resort like Coral Bay and had full board meals a long time ago.
