I just attended the latest forum The Pinoy Taste Buds: What's Cooking in Philippine Food Tourism held by the AIM (Asian Institute of Management Makati) Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism about Pinoy food :) Representatives from the Department of Tourism, the academe and chefs were the speakers this time around. The discourse revolved around our cuisine and the various ways to include it and promote it as an integral part of Philippine tourism. I've included links and details about nationwide Kulinarya Food Trip Packages available to the public which you can use as a guide for your itineraries. ;)

Mindanao Series: Davao Short Trip Part II of II
It's funny how you go to other provinces in the Philippines looking for some local flavor and they all point you to the newest craze they have in town. For those next two days, there were attempts to get some feedback from the drivers of those yellow, blue, purple pastel Maligaya (happy) taxis and a few frequent travellers who were with me in Davao. "Where do you go to normally when you're in Davao and you can't go very far?" I've come up with just a few of the old and the new to do in the main part of Davao, aside from those I have already mentioned in the first part.
Mindanao Series: Davao Short Trip Part I of II
Never in my dreams did I think I would be bound for Mindanao any time soon. Not only did I spontaneously take on this challenge, I had an idea that inspired me to experience the South even after the first time. For years, I was content to watch the horrors and conflicts in television between fellow Filipinos who had different ideals who are fighting to survive and the Philippine government troops who have sworn to protect this country. I never thought about the impact of these seemingly separate phenomena on me. After all, it was already there even before I was born. The fear had limited me to travel only up to the Visayas region. I believe that the fear will never go away and it is the courage that was borne out of that fear that has me start being a contribution as a blogger for the unity of my country, the Philippines, through travel.
