Olympic Grade Ski Resorts in Pyeongchang, Korea near Seoul!

Planning a skiing or snowboarding trip to Korea? Check out these 3 ski resorts included in the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics and Paralympics venue lineup! The slopes of Phoenix Bokwang Snowpark, Alpensia and Yongpyong are being prepared for world-class athletes this year and will continue on providing pro quality entertainment for the public even after the games!

Phoenix Snowpark

They use artificial and real snow at the Phoenix Snow Park to ensure that you're just playing all day long and all winter long (around November to March). They have beginner, intermediate, advanced and most advanced tracks - includes 6 Olympic courses (slope style, cross style, mogul, giant parallel slalom, aerial and half-pipe).

 

 

 

 

 

The lift is available for morning (8:30am to 12:30pm), afternoon (12:30pm to 4:30pm) or evening (6:30pm to 10:30pm) in 4 hour windows for 59k won (50k for children). Check out this site for more options and fees. If you want to stay for more than a day, they have condo or hotel accommodations available and a bus from Seoul!

They charge for training (premium kids ski school available), the snow sled park, ski or board rental charge (full set or partial gear) and clothes rental. Don't ever forget sunglasses, a jacket and waterproof shoes when walking or sliding in the snow and be sure to go before April unlike us haha =)

 

Alpensia Sports Park

 

 

We didn't get to ski or check out this facility (click here for ski info and rates) but we stayed at the Intercontinental Alpensia PyeongChang Resort and it had a lovely town-like ambiance with a duty free and movie theater even! Just imagine going back to a cozy hotel room with modern amenities a view after a long day in the slopes =)

Yong Pyong Alpine Centre

 

 

 

 

I believe this is the most upscale of the three. We didn't have time to go around anymore but I did get to take some pictures of some of the slopes (they have 28 slopes, 15 cable lifts and a gondola!).

And(!) I found out that they offer all-in seasonal ski trips (limited slots) for just around $800! Perhaps if the budget permits, then the whole gang can come! I believe you have to get in touch with them directly for this.

 

Want to watch the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and PyeongChang Paralympic Games? It's going to be held on February 9-25, 2018 and on March 9-18, 2018! You may want to buy tickets for the snow games and maybe watch from Phoenix since they have 18 gold medals to give away for the 9 games. Hehe.
