How to Go to NAIA Terminal 3 from the Runway Manila Footbridge at the Newport City and Vice Versa!

It's our first travel out of Manila on a domestic trip for 2025! Because of the change in the administration of the NAIA Manila Airport last 2024 and our last traffic experiences at the NAIA Terminal 3 (took 1 hour by car from Newport to the Bay Area!), we wanted to try out the Runway Manila Footbridge for the first time via Grabcar. The first advantage was the cheaper fare because we could apply a Grab coupon when we do Runway Manila as a final destination from our house vs. no coupons directly to the Terminal 3 airport. Here's a short run through of our experience. You can also do this if your flight arrives at Terminal 3 so you just go the opposite route that we took!

The spread is international and they also have a taste of Pinoy desserts for your guests. I'm here to give you a tour because I love going around before I choose in a buffet hehe. I've discovered some that I don't see in usual buffets and hotpot selections and I actually love the thought that went into providing kiddie dining sets here. 

 

Manila Food Trip - Foodie Finds near DLSU Taft for the Avida Towers Prime Food Hunt!

I've always wondered how my life would have turned out if I went to La Salle instead of Ateneo haha. I got to sit in once and enjoyed the teaching method. J was from there and he took me to one of his favorite (and student-friendly) tambayans in Taft before. I've always loved beef and steak but I could never forget the sauce! It was a favorite memory and my equivalent of a Manang's moment near the Ateneo covered courts..

Fast forward to this year, I was recently invited to participate in the Avida Food Hunt Taft Edition and was glad to find out that this restaurant was still there and it was in their list. So basically, this post is about the restaurants that you'll come to love if ever you choose to reside in Taft (where the Avida Towers Taft is currently being constructed) and where you can head to if ever you just want a downtown Manila food trip or study in La Salle or one of the colleges nearby. Favorite Guiltless Restaurant Picks In Manila / Also Top Guiltless Date Places in Manila

Eating different cuisines in Manila is a great way to experience a slice of life in different parts of the world. I am not an expert in differentiating which one is more authentic because you would have to have a good palate, a good memory and a thick wallet to do that. I do, however, have my own list of favorite restaurants in Manila that serve different cuisines. If you ever decide to try them out, you will be able to get a taste of my food preferences and how restaurateurs perceive either their own food or an adaptation of another cuisine through their restaurants. Sometimes, they even try to provide the same ambiance, culture, language and service of the country they are representing. Oftentimes, everything suits your taste that you end up assuming that this must be what I would be served when I go to that country. Note: Some restaurants here adjust their recipes to satisfy the Filipino senses.

As for this blog post, favorites are favorites. It's so hard to rank them and there is no need because they have different cuisines. Only my favorite locations are listed and I've included restaurants opened by locals (even those with no particular cuisine). We are not going to discuss the price because premium ingredients are generally expensive and restaurants are supposed to make some business (if you don't like to eat at home and make it yourself). If you eat in one of my favorite restaurants and you don't like the food I marked with Y, it just means that we have different tastes. I rest my case. This post will appear again once in a while with new additions (new restaurants and pictures) so stay tuned! I will search the metro and pickle my brain for some more.

There are 2 main events in the Philippines that happen simultaneously on a Saturday before Valentine’s Day, at least from my personal experience last year and this year.  I remember because it was quite hard to choose one over the other so we chose to go to both last year – February 13, 2010. It was not a good choice since one was in Clark, Pampanga while the other was in Manila. It was my first Hot Air Balloon Fiesta and the 1^st ever Pyromusical Competition in the Philippines. I wasn’t blogging then so I was quite oblivious to what was really happening except those that caught my attention. Last year was a purely visual experience and I was content to watch balloons and sparks in the sky. I was determined to make this year a different experience for both.

Manila '10 - How To Play Funky Bowling, Bowling For Team-Building

Bowling had always been a timeless sport in Manila. There was a time when our family went bowling in malls for consecutive weekends as a bonding activity. It was a fun sport that my mother played with her sisters when they were young and it was an activity that my uncle played with his friends during their time. They say some daughters and sons inherited their parent's "skill" even if we were all newbies. It was a chance for every parent to teach their own style of bowling to their kids even without the help of professionals. Every spare and every strike was met with an applause and cheers among temporary teammates. This was the time when I hypothesized that I had to have a heavier ball to hit more pins. This theory was developed along with my billiards playing secret (billiards was in season too because you could find it at the same location). It was "Lakas Tira, Lakas Chamba" if played for fun.
