From almost a decade ago until now, in support of RA10068 or the Organic Agriculture Act of 2010, I consider myself fortunate enough to become an Organic Agriculture (OA) blogger in partnership with the Agricultural Training Institute of the Philippine Department Agriculture (DA-ATI). Back then, I didn’t even think about going to farms on my own for leisure. Where can I find them right and who do I talk to? Slowly but surely and with the onset of technological advances, I now look forward to easy DIY farm tours and staying for a few days away from my hectic city life. I am very happy that our current Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Puyat came from the DA and now the two agencies collaborate more to promote farm tourism at last 💕 This year, ATI CALABARZON and DOT published the Agriculturally Awesome: Regional Farm Tourism Guide for Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon farms and ATI learning sites to help us plan more trips and connect directly to farms and farmers 😊 One such farm featured is Gorgeous Farms - located along the Tagaytay highway! Read my post below on the available accommodations on your way to farms in CALABARZON and Tagaytay!
One can simply go to the ATI Region 4A office at Trece Martirez, Cavite and get a copy of the Agriculturally Awesome: A Regional Farm Tourism Travel Guide coffee table book! It is limited but they can personally tell you there about where to go and how to get in touch with the farms! The 4H Youth in Agriculture Hub is also located here, an events place for trainings and seminars, as well as a dormitory (which anyone can book!).
You can just inquire on their rates. One room can accommodate 3 people. There is a CR and separate shower room inside.
They will also teach farmers and walk-ins how to register online at the e-Extension Hub one stop shop and give you brochures on technologies for farms or gardens.
I would like to thank Center Director for ATI Calabarzon Ms. Marites "Pia" Piamonte-Cosico and ATI Information Chief Dr. Rolando Maningas for bringing us here! It's perfect because our *Project Farm* is near Amadeo and Tagaytay so they also also told me to connect with the ATI Farmers and Information Technology Services (FITS center) near there.
We dozed off for a bit and we were at Gorgeous Farms when we woke up haha. From Manila, it's past the Skyranch, small palengke and a bit more towards Alfonso but still in Tagaytay, just check Google Maps. We went in their restaurant The Wild Juan as the rain got harder
Nevertheless, we were showered with warm southern hospitality at The Wild Juan with the family patriarch Mr. Ral Murillo. He runs the restaurant with his son Chef Tommy, the bed & breakfast with his other son Nick and the farm with his wife former broadcaster Thelma Dumpit Murillo.
and the farm provides what the restaurant needs for that farm-to-table experience. Their food is Western Filipino (Filipino with a twist) and I sure would like to try their specialties like the Kare-Kareng Kasoy and Pulled Pork Sisig next time - since we also had to go quickly back to Silang before it got dark! Hay, imagine trekking that 9 hectare farm too! But I was thinking Tagaytay is easy to go to, we just didn't know there was a hidden gem and farm at the ridge!
What I found most sulit is this room for 6! If you split the room cost to 6 people then it's just around 1k each or less, with breakfast.
You can also hang out at this former part of the beer garden. I really hope they bring back the acoustic nights. Farm tours can also be arranged if you stay here!
Inquire about day tours and pick-and-pay through Gorgeous Farms or The Wild Juan. Look for Ate Marie (Marz) ;)
Gorgeous Farms is DOT, ATI and TESDA accredited and they just started 2 years ago! They have seminars for organic farming and urban gardening. What I like about their place is that it is a family affair and you see the integration of farming and a ready market (which is the restaurant). Hope to be back soon and take home creative recipes or at least the mindset to twist everything and cook based on what's available per season. =)
For more info on the sites we visited and if you're interested in Philippine agriculture, farm visits and organic farming, check out the ATI, E-Extension and Department of Agriculture websites.

ATI also has a list of all accredited farms that are Learning Sites (LS), Extension Service Providers (ESP) and Schools for Practical Agriculture (SPA). Click here. These are the hotlines of ATI Main if you want to be in touch and ask for the farm contacts - 0920-9462474 or 929-8541 (government office hours). It is better to call their regional offices (info available at the ATI website) also as they are the ones coordinating with the farmers.
